How to get your textile pattern printed?
Do you want to buy a textile pattern on French Design and you don't know where and how to have it printed? Here are some ideas to help you customize and personalize fabrics or textile products with your newly acquired designs.
Patterns purchased on French Design can come to life on all kinds of textile supports and more widely on objects or communication supports.
A textile pattern can be printed:
- on fabric (fabrics for clothing, furnishing fabrics)
- on products already made and ready to be personalized for fashion and for home and decoration (example: printing on clothing, fashion accessories, decorative accessories, household linen, t-shirt, sweatshirts, caps, tote bag, cushion , duvet cover, tablecloth, blanket etc.)
- on wall and floor coverings (printing for wallpaper, etc.)
- on a paper support (printing for stationery, posters, cards, notebooks, office accessories, correspondence cards, etc.)
- on a design product and various objects (tableware, mug, phone case, furniture, decoration, etc.)
- on advertising and marketing products (posters, printed advertisements, promotional items, flyers, brochures, business cards, packaging, books, magazines, etc.)
A pattern can be embroidered:
- on a fabric
- on a product already made
A pattern can be used more widely for communication:
- on digital content incorporating design (websites, blog, newsletter, e-mail, digital PDF document, applications, software, e-books, web templates, digital advertisements, digital flyers, digital brochures, etc.)
Which technique should you choose to print a fabric, clothing or textile object ?
To print a design on a textile support (fabric or ready-made product), you can use:
- digital printing (inkjet, transfer or sublimation): Suitable for small to large runs of fabrics by the meter. This technique is popular for printing all types of patterns (all-over patterns, placed patterns) on the entire fabric. It offers faithful rendering of details or color gradients, without limitation on the number of colors (ideal for reproducing a photograph or a complex pattern in four-color process, for example).
- rotary printing : Used for the production of large films (greater than 300 linear meters). This fabric printing technique deals with all-over designs generally composed of a maximum of 12 colors.
- screen printing : ideal for small to large series of already made pieces. This personalization technique is widely used to print patterns placed on clothing or textile objects (example: logo on a t-shirt). Screen printing can process designs composed of 1 to 24 colors (the number of colors present in the pattern is important to know because the cost of production increases with the number of colors).
